Q-Balancer
The Q-Balancer uses the DeanSoft operating system and offers the highest standard of performance and reliability. With no moving parts and completely configured in Flash memory hardware failures are a thing of the past! Q-Balancer can be provided in table top or rack-mounted format.
By constantly monitoring all the links being used the Q-Balancer ensures the maximum bandwidth is available to users at all times, outperforming the performance of a typical router which can only handle one link. Q-Balancer copes effortlessly with large file downloads and those web-hosted applications which require 100% reliable connectivity.

Installing your Q-Balancer could not be easier... |
Using multiple links ensures than an organisation has improved flexibility and reliability. The Q-balancer can maximise your investment by separating traffic onto different links – for example by separating your email traffic from other heavy bandwidth usage to avoid contention across the links both for incoming and outgoing traffic. It will also ensure that if a link fails the services will be seamlessly merged onto the remaining links.
The Q-Balancer also allows management to place limits on bandwidth for specific IP addresses, type of traffic or link.
Configuration
The Q-Balancer uses advanced load balancing algorithms on different protocols to manage traffic across networks. Algorithms can be used both for incoming and outgoing traffic. Algorithms for load balancing can be applied to entire protocols or specific to source IP/ports. Balancing rules can use different algorithms which include:
- Fast ISP response time
- Redirect to transparent proxy
- Weighted least traffic by packet
- Weighted round robin IP persistent
- Weighted round robin by connection
- Weighted round robin by packet
Managing your Q-Balancer
Managing your Q-Balancer is done using a Windows based graphical management tool.
Any Q-Balancer events and alerts are sent to a remote syslog server on your network through the management interface which also provides statistical data on performance. Email alerts can also be sent if a major incident occurs.
High Availability mode
Robust and flexible, the Q-Balancer integrates real time High availability, allowing the addition of a second load balancer in a fault tolerant configuration. The Link Load Balancer's system and configuration reside in FLASH memory on the device, thereby reducing the risk of failure. |
